I realize I am a little late finding this review, but I couldn't help but notice both of your original concerns with the Omnia could have easily been fixed by changing a few settings.

Although you have already chosen to change the phone, here are the settings for anyone else who might be reading and are experiencing the same issues with the Omnia:

Web page readability. The Omnia comes with the font size set on "small". If you are having trouble reading pages, changing this will solve the problem. In Opera mobile go to Settings) Display) Minimum Font Size) and change it from small to medium.

For the issue of not finding the keypad when making a call, again this is a simple setting to change. Under the Phone menu, go to Services) and turn "Dialer Touch Lock" to off.

Hope this helps.

I am so stuck between the two verizon phones for the same reason as the author. No WiFi on the Storm. Horrible decision by Verizon. Did they do it to sell more Omnia's? Or did they do it because they wanted people to only use their network? Conspiracy theory!!!

Hi, Jae. I'll try to respond to your questions. Web page readability seemed to be related to the Omnia's screen resolution. The pages were blurry. I understand Samsung has a higher resolution version, but they are not marketing it here.

I absolutely understand what you are saying about the 3rd party apps for the Iphone. I ust decided that, for my particular needs, I wouldn't be using that many, and there are a number of apps for the Storm, also. But, again, this wasn't a big consideration for me.

Yep, I expect better also, and in a year or two, I might trade for something else. But, for right now, the Storm is plenty good enough for me, so I'm feeling good about my decision and moving on. That's what satisficing is all about.

Jae

Interesting, but, not very informative. I'd like to see more details on why you preferred Storm over Omnia, etc. The Storm doesn't have WiFi(big mistake, imo.) The Omnia and iPhone do. You mentioned some of the webpages were unreadable on the Omnia. Was this a loading issue as far as network location? A consistent problem? I'm contemplating between the Omnia, iPhone, and Storm as well, but I don't know if I'm completely sold on the Storm. The fact the iPhone has 3rd party apps being created by everyone and their grandparents is a big selling point. To me a 32GB iphone version with a better camera, built-in "office suite" compatibility would make it an even stronger sell. I'm sure it's just a matter of time...
