How can we say this with certainty? Two answers:
- science, and
We have studied the science and we also have the experience - both in applying the science ourselves and in training others.
Who are we? Dave Shearon and Candice Reed - a/k/a Thriving Lawyers. We are lawyers, and we have studied positive psychology at the University of Pennsylvania - hard science about what skills and approaches tend to consistently help individuals - such as you! - get more of what they really want in life: deep, long-lasting happiness, joy in everyday living, quality realtionships, satisfying work with achievement and purpose.
We have experience, both in putting these skills and approaches to work in our own lives, and in training and coaching others. Dave has taught the key skills to thousands - from lawyers to law students to military personnel to educators - in the US and England, Israel, and Australia. Candice has used the skills personally as a leader in a legal placement firm and as a corporate counsel, and she has coached attorneys and corporate executives.
Now, you have the opportunity to learn key skills - and get CLE credit - in small scale workshops led by Dave and Candice. We won't just tell you about the skills; we'll get you into the nuts and bolts and help you understand and practice them in depth. When you leave, you'll have what you need to start moving forward in your life and your practice - EVEN IF RIGHT NOW YOU SEE NO PATHWAY FORWARD!
Is it cheap CLE? No. But it is great value. Think about it. If you go to a "Recent Developments in ..." CLE, you've just got to go to another one next year. Come work with us for a day, however, and you'll still be using the skills years from now, and be even better at them!
Here's what's coming up as the first two offerings in the Thriving Adaptations Series:
March 1 or March 22 - Resilience Thinking for Lawyers: Three key skills to tackle some of the key challenges lawyers face in managing stress, responding to adversity, and setting and achieving goals in their personal and professional lives. The US Army is making a massive effort to train soldiers and their families in these skills. If it can help soldiers and their familes in the difficult challenges they have faced over the last 12 years, isn't it possible they could help you? Wouldn't it be worthwhile to find out?
April 5 or April 19 - Strengths-Based Lawyering: Tired of trying to "fix" your weaknesses? What if noticing, developing, and managing your strengths offered better pathways toward success - in your practice, at home, and in your community? We'll help you not only identify some of your "Signature" strengths - we'll show you how to put them to work!
These are small-scale workshops where you will get personal attention from experienced practitioners when you need it. For $495, that's a great value!
